How sponsoring can help your company.
- Tax-deductions! Enough said.
- Image + Sales. Many people these days don’t just expect a great product or service from the company that they’re purchasing from, but they also want to know that the company that they’re supporting is also taking the time to support others. By sponsoring a non-profit you’re letting your customers know that GIVING BACK is something that’s not only important to your company, but something that your business truly values as well. So when it comes down to choosing between you and a competitor, if you both do suburb work, with the only difference being that you give back and they don't, well then there's no competition as to who that person will choose. - "Free" advertising. Okay so we don’t have hundreds of thousands of followers, but the people who follow our social media pages do gravitate towards businesses that they see are supporting us. Plus word travels fast in the social media parent circles as to which companies do their best to help their communities and which ones don’t. Don't forget the press. Why not have your marketing department use this sponsorship as a means of getting some good old-fashion free press...it's great for your business and it helps our foundation get our name out there which in turn generates more awareness for childhood cancer and hopefully more donations for research - Giving back is good for your health! Did you know that helping others can actually lower your blood pressure and stress levels? It’s true! When you help others by either making a donation, volunteering your time, or simply holding the door open you feel this instant sense of purpose which is helpful when managing day-to-day stress. Paying it forward also reduces depression + loneliness as well, so bring on the giving! |

Other ways to help.
- Donate merchandise or a service. Instead of (or in addition to) donating funds, consider donating merchandise or a service as well. We’re always in need of raffle and silent auction items and securing things of value are hard to come by. Again this helps your company too as we’ve had people tell us that after they won a certain gift certificate, or an overnight at a hotel, that they were now regular customers as they loved the service that they had received. Had this customer not won your donation, they may have never come across your company otherwise.
- Matching funds. When your employees make a contribution, consider having your company match that donation as well. Again you’ll receive a tax write-off, but also it creates good office morale as you encourage your employees to give and show them that giving back is important to you as well. Take it a step further and create a competition amongst your employees. One company who raised money for us had a holiday gingerbread house competition at their office party where employees donated money towards their favorite houses and the company matched each donation (each house was for a different charity). Long story short between what the employees donated and what the company matched, we received a check for $10,000!
